Hey there! On Sunday, May 17, I will be walking to raise awareness and funds for an organization and a community that has a special place in my heart, Friendship Circle.

Friendship Circle of Connecticut works every day to cultivate friendships between kids, teens and young adults with special needs and dedicated teen and young adult volunteers, providing social and recreational opportunities that are otherwise unavailable to individuals with special needs. Hundreds of friendships have been formed and so many lives have been changed for the better because of this beautiful organization.

Since 8th Grade, Marlowe and I have been friends, playing together every weekend and getting closer and closer over the years. Marlowe is 6 years old, and I look forward to playing with her weekly. Over the years, we have gone through many favorite activities and games, but few have stayed constant, those being hide and seek, and obstacle courses, which has now turned into the floor is lava. A more recent favorite is a game that is similar to family, where Marlowe pretends to be a big girl flying to Miami alone to vist her friend (me). We stay at a hotel together, swim, eat at the buffet, and fight villains, a game for both of us that has never gotten old. Recently, when playing the floor is lava, we have begun interviewing each other asking questions such as the name of our school, favorite color, if she thinks she will win the contest, etc. When I am with Marlowe, there is never a dull moment! We always have fun and laugh together and I am so grateful to have been introduced to the Friendship Circle 3 years ago.
